At a young age, Scott had formal training for the viola and trumpet. Beyond that, he became self-trained in a variety of instruments, including drums, electric guitar, and his instrument of choice: bass guitar. He has provided bass tracks and backing vocals for multiple music projects and live acts, in addition to composing music himself and starting a video series, “Strumming the Bassline”, in which he charts and performs the bass lines of various video game tracks, then shares the charts with the public.
